Spanish Champions Barcelona began their bid for a fourth consecutive La Liga title with a fascinating win against Villarreal at the Nou Camp.
Barca was forced to start the league campaign late as they were involved in the mid week European Super Cup match against FC Porto, in which the Catalan’s were the winners.
Youngster Thiago along with debutants Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez were on the starting line-up. Thiago opened the scoring in the 25th minute and Fabregas added the second just before the half time.

Barca started the second half with a bang as the other debutant Sanchez added the third and on the 51st minute Messi sored the fourth goal and opened his account for the new campaign.
Fabregas was replaced by Jonathan Dos Santos in the 70th minute and the fans gave an ovation for the former Arsenal captain. Messi scored his 2nd goal of the night with a neat one –two pass from Thiago.
Villarreal had very few chances in the game and they were easily saved by Victor Valdez.
