So much for a surprise, as apparently both 3 top nominators(Ronaldo,Messi,Xavi)already know who will win the award before they went to Monaco. But Ronaldo didn't intend to go all the way to a country that took 4 hours flight of his precious time, plus travelled by 2 cars only to honor Messi's victory and put a sportive smile on the camera.
No, Ronaldo was there because the president himself ordered him to. Perez wants to have a better relationship with UEFA, after being harmed by the UEFA referee and the commitee on the last season, and that their presence could normalize the situation.
Well, at least he gets to flirt with the beautiful host....
But there is a plus point for Ronaldo on the stage. When they got interviewed by the host, the 2 Barcelona players needed the questions to be translated, while Ronaldo answered the questioned in English. So Messi and Xavi didn't have a clue on what Ronaldo might say. Also when the host welcomed the 3 of them to the stage, only Ronaldo stood, and the other followed him, clueless......
It's funny to watch though....
