Kyrgiakos first training session with his new team mates at Wolfsburg

Liverpool have revealed that defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos has joined German outfit Wolfsburg.

The Greece international has signed a two-year contract with the Bundesliga club although no fee has been announced.

"Liverpool FC this afternoon confirmed that Sotirios Kyrgiakos had left the club and joined Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg," a statement on Liverpool's website read.

Kyrgiakos made 49 appearances for the Red’s after joining the club from AEK Athens in the 
summer of 2009.

The 32-year-old made 28 of those last term although his first-team opportunities were reduced when Kenny Dalglish returned as boss.

Kyrgiakos revealed he was keen to returning to Germany after spending two season at Eintracht Frankfurt from 2006 to 2008.
