Because he deserves it, since the shot was not strong enough, and was too predictable. Valencia's goalkeeper had no trouble at all in catching the ball. Infact, he said that he already studied Messi's penalty's shot, where he realized Messi doesn't have variety in the direction.<br /><span id="fullpost"><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_HvUDaO_KCaspnisLWR7WyuZ_zopwyOKs8GimFXt2CNbCOQZ2uAfziQ_4zPcz_nQcB9UoDoedtyRZVQaXj_9LT1U2iyKbLPTAfQQQFXkP3fg15Lww9hT3q02oBz-AhLKEyOVCk0qn6d0/s1600/messi1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg_HvUDaO_KCaspnisLWR7WyuZ_zopwyOKs8GimFXt2CNbCOQZ2uAfziQ_4zPcz_nQcB9UoDoedtyRZVQaXj_9LT1U2iyKbLPTAfQQQFXkP3fg15Lww9hT3q02oBz-AhLKEyOVCk0qn6d0/s320/messi1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />The same situation happened last year over Sevilla. Messi missed the shot, and when he missed, the team somehow failed to win. In all 6 penalties this season, he have failed twice, that's around 35%.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0FUFTp-rH9XygzXJnRraEqSCWWBbZiH_aIpSYdhgMDg13A6JXT8-_gUGJDai1T1LhWnXC5LztIsTlmEU5tReUyNq34tWW-UoRPyj7WNZw6wAied4Lrm7FlnlBi5dYM3YX9KQX5DzmZ3E/s1600/messi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0FUFTp-rH9XygzXJnRraEqSCWWBbZiH_aIpSYdhgMDg13A6JXT8-_gUGJDai1T1LhWnXC5LztIsTlmEU5tReUyNq34tWW-UoRPyj7WNZw6wAied4Lrm7FlnlBi5dYM3YX9KQX5DzmZ3E/s320/messi.jpg" width="202" /></a></div><br />Messi is indeed having a bad term when it comes to penalty kick. He's usually full of confidence when dribbling the ball passing the guards, but that when he knew he gets backup from his other trustable team mates. But in penalties, he's on his own, at least until he take the shot.<br /><br />(Remember how he did a funny penalty against AC Milan last November ?? He had to repeat his shot after received a yellow for doing such weird gesture..... )<br /><br />In total 20 penalties he had taken so far, he failed 7th of it. So, it's another 35% failure. A bad record for number one player.<br /><br />Valencia Penalty Missed<br /><object style="height: 250px; width: 370px;"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1xQg9DDikB0?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1xQg9DDikB0?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="370" height="250"></object><br /><br />Sevilla Penalty Missed<br /><object style="height: 250px; width: 370px;"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/o7hyFptYWCY?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/o7hyFptYWCY?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="370" height="250"></object></div></span>

Barcelona players made a protest that it didn't deserves a penalty. Dani Alves claimed that he touches the ball first before it hits Marcelo's feet. Xavi said after the match, that Barcelona is better than Real Madrid.<br /><span id="fullpost"><br />Judging on this match only, I can say I agree with him. And what about  the penalty ? The incident was so fast, just like a blink in the eye. It wasn't entirely the ref fault to gave that decision.....<br /><br />Anyway, before you get to the conclusion, just watch here and decide. And remember that this is football. Sometimes the ref win you, and sometimes they don't. And I have to remind you Barca fans, that there were some of Barcelona goals were offside, but still, the ref do nothing about it.<br /><br /><br /><object style="height: 210px; width: 350px;"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l7cRepm4rBw?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l7cRepm4rBw?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="350" height="210"></object></div></span>
